I recently wrote a simple browser-based synchronized audio-text reader for language learning purposes (LR method and its variants).

It displays the text on one side and optional translation(s) on the other. Then you can click on any phrase on the screen and the player will play the corresponding audio part. You can make it stop at the end of each phrase, repeat it, or continue with the next phrase.

This tool is useful for:

  • Working on dialogues
  • Studying transcripts/subtitles/lyrics
  • Reading/listening to parallel texts

I have made available a few lessons from the FSI Cantonese Basic course. Please check them out.

If anyone finds them helpful, I will make more. Please also provide me with any comments you may have.
